In regards to the implementation of the planned project in Kobuleti municipality, first working meeting took place in Adjara

Within the framework of state program of universal internetization, first working meeting took place in Adjara, in order to implement the planned project in Kobuleti municipality.

The Minister of Finance and Economy of Adjara, Jaba Phutkaradze, Deputy Mayor of the Kobuleti municipality Levan Zoidze and “Open Net” Director, Mariam Sulaberidze held a joint meeting and discussed important issues associated with the beginning of the program.

“Today we held first working meeting in Adjara, where we discussed all those important subjects that become relevant in order to start the network construction, as well as during the construction phase itself and requires coordination with the local government.  We shared with them our experience from the Pilot Project and talked about nearest plans” – noted Mariam Sulaberidze.

 During the commentaries with the press, she also discussed the state procurement that was announced for the design and build of the broadband infrastructure in the target geographical area of Kobuleti and expressed hope that private telecommunication operators would become interested with this project.

“We hope that the private sector will be interested in the procurement announced in the target geographical area, will accept this challenge and together with the government, will play an active role in the implementation of such a vital project for the country” – stated the director of “Open Net”.

The construction of the network in the Kobuleti municipality will be completed at the end of current year and it will allow further 10,500 residents to have access to high quality internet and broadband services.
