Mariam Sulaberidze met with the members of the Small and Medium Telecom Operators association of Georgia

Today, Director of “Open Net” Mariam Sulaberidze was invited to an information meeting organized by the “Small and Medium Telecom Operators Association of Georgia”, where she had a presentation regarding the State Program to develop Fiber-Optic infrastructure. She also talked about the importance of the development of business environment and promotion of competition.

“You know that along with the start of State Program’s Pilot Project, with the involvement of the World Bank we plan to deploy 5,000km of Fiber-Optic infrastructure, which covers 590 000 inhabitants.  Our main objectives for this project is to develop free business activities in the Telecommunications Field, promotion of competition and private investments.  The program will ensure the creation of the neutral Optic-Fiber network throughout the whole Georgia, the development of wholesale broadband services in the targeted geographical areas as well as connection between any two points of the created network” said the director of “Open Net”

According to her, the built infrastructure will allow any operator to receive open access services with free, unrestricted and non-discriminatory terms.

The meeting took place in an interactive manner.  Mariam Sulaberidze fully answered all of the questions that were asked by the members of the association.
