Vacancy for the Broadband Cost reduction framework has been announced
Within the scope of the Log-In Georgia Project, Open Net is announcing a vacancy for consultant for the Development of legal and technical framework for Broadband Cost Reduction.
Objectives of the Assignment:
- Defining the list of physical infrastructure, civil works and in building physical infrastructure which will not be covered by the draft law of Georgia on “Sharing Telecommunication Infrastructure and Telecom Ready Physical Infrastructure” (hereafter “Law”);
- Defining the technical standards and specifications on the in-building physical infrastructure and on the access to the in-building physical infrastructure;
- Elaboration of the Rules for installation of telecommunication cables;
- Elaboration of the Rules for joint use of tunnels and trenches by pipelines (electricity; gas; water; etc.) and telecommunication cables and the standardization of underground duct plans (including the safety procedures);
- Identifying the gaps in existing legislation to implement the Law by supporting the building of broadband infrastructure and 5G networks (including the simplification of the permissions).
The required qualifications for applying for the job are following:
Education:
Master’s degree in one of the following fields:
- telecommunications engineering;
- electrical and electronics engineering;
- telecommunications economics;
- economics;
- finance;
- legal, or related fields.
Or valid certificate in one of the following fields: CCIE or JNCIE;
Work experience & skills:
- International experience in similar tasks. Strong business/financial/economical knowledge and experience;
- Knowledge and experience in telecommunications, engineering, or related fields;
- At least 10 (ten) years’ experience in the electronic communications sector in providing consultancy/advisory services, or in network design and/or operations;
- Knowledge in rules and regulations of infrastructure development. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and deliver outputs on time; and
- Excellent speaking and writing skills in English.

Estimated service cost: 60.000-80,000$
Duration: 3 months
